Do NHL players stay in the Olympic village? – cbs8.com

MILAN, Metropolitan City of Milan — Team USA’s men’s hockey team is stacked with NHL players, and some fans are curious about their living situation while participating in the 2026 Winter Games
Why is this even a question? Well, NBA players who participate in the Olympics stay in off-site hotels.
According to ESPN, the plan is for NHL players to stay in the Olympic Village alongside other athletes representing their home countries.
This plan could change due to an outbreak of norovirus in Finland’s women’s hockey team. While the virus is currently contained to one team and players are quarantining, the living situation could rapidly change.
NHL players participate in the games for free and usually only request that their families are treated well, sometimes including travel costs, according to ESPN.
The NHL might also provide more food than what is available for athletes in the Olympic Village to meet dietary needs of players while on their break ahead of the season playoffs.
The U.S. men’s team will open against Team Latvia on Feb. 12, then play Team Denmark on Feb. 14 and Team Germany on Feb. 15. The games will be played either in the Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena or the Rho Ice Hockey Arena in Milan.
Team USA’s men’s hockey team consists of NHL players from various teams. Here’s the full roster
