Group action in women’s ice hockey gets underway at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on Thursday with eight teams in action.
Headlining Day 1 of competition on the ice is the United States taking on the Czech Republic on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 10:40 a.m. ET inside Rho Ice Hockey Arena in Milan.
The United States, once again led by captain Hilary Knight, is coming off a silver medal finish at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics after falling to Canada in the gold medal game.
In other action, Sweden and Germany kick start the day in Italy with a 6:10 a.m. ET puck drop for Group B play. The home country then takes on France in the second Group B game of the day at 8:40 a.m. ET, while Finland and Canada meet up in the fourth and final game of the day.
Group action play continues at the Winter Games through Tuesday, Feb. 10. The knockout round begins on Friday, Feb. 13 with the quarterfinals and runs through Thursday, Feb. 19 with the bronze and gold medal games.

USA Network will broadcast the United States’ women’s ice hockey Group A game vs. the Czech Republic on Thursday, Feb. 5 from Milan’s Rho Ice Hockey Arena.
Streaming options for the game include NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Olympic App (with a TV login). Another option includes Peacock, NBC’s subscription streaming service.
The other three games on Thursday’s slate are digital-only.
