BOSTON — There was already an undercurrent of nastiness brewing in Bruins-Rangers game before the score got out of hand.
But after Pavel Zacha’s third goal gave the Bruins a 6-1 lead with 8:34 left in the second period, those hostilities boiled over.
Mark Kastelic and Sam Carrick lined up for the ensuing faceoff and once the puck dropped so did their gloves. The two squared off for a fight right on the center ice dot.
Carrick landed a pair of right hands early, but Kastelic rallied with a few of his own late and ended up on top. The Bruins forward delivered one more shot while Carrick was down and earned a 10-minute misconduct in addition to the 5 minutes each got for fighting.
