The Granite City Lumberjacks are about a week away from playing in this year's Hockey Day Minnesota celebration in Hastings. The Lumberjacks will be taking on the Rochester Grizzlies next Friday, and to celebrate the occasion, the team teased some pics of their outdoor threads.
Hockey Day Minnesota, which is being held in Hastings this year, will feature a NA3HL game. The Granite City Lumberjacks will be playing the Rochester Grizzlies at noon on January 23rd, with the game taking place at the United Heroes League Complex, at Hockey Day Minnesota.
This year, the events start a week ahead of time, with all levels of hockey games being played on the outdoor rink located at 15211 Ravenna Trail, in Hastings.
The Granite City Lumberjacks dropped a sneak peek of the jerseys they will be wearing next week, and I've got to admit these are pretty sweet looking and should really get a second wearing the next time these two teams meet up.
My personal favorite touch to the jerseys, other than the cursive script spelling out Granite City, is the crossed axes that seem to run either inside the rear collar or across the back of the neck, above the numbers.
A full reveal of the jerseys is coming in the next few days, as the team has promised a video, which one would guess would be a complete reveal/hype video for the upcoming game.
The Jacks are in 2nd place with an over record of 23-6-1-2 with 49 points on the season. They are trailing the Minnesota Moose by four points for first place in the Western Division.
Rochester comes into the game next week, currently sitting in 3rd place in the NA3HL Central Division with an overall record of 18-12-1 and having 37 points.
