The Chicago Blackhawks (19-22-7) wrap up their four-game homestand with a Central Division matchup against the Winnipeg Jets (19-22-6) at the United Center on Monday.
It’s the second of four meetings between the two teams in the 2025-26 season, with the Jets winning the first battle 6-3 at Canada Life Centre on Oct. 30. Teuvo Teravainen, Alex Vlasic, and Andre Burakovsky were the goal scorers in the game for Chicago. Vladislav Namestnikov (PP), Gabriel Villardi (2), Mark Scheifele, Josh Morrissey, and Kyle Connor scored for Winnipeg.
Last time out, the Blackhawks dropped a third consecutive game on home ice, falling 5-2 to the Boston Bruins. Ryan Greene and Wyatt Kaiser scored in the first period to put the Hawks ahead 2-0 after 20 minutes, but the Bruins rattled off five unanswered goals over the final two periods. Chicago has been outscored 12-4 during their three-game losing streak.
The Jets are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss at home to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. Alex Iafallo, Connor, and Nino Niederreiter were the three goal scorers for Winnipeg. The Leafs overcame a 3-1 third-period deficit and rallied for three unanswered goals. Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Bobby McCann scored in the final 14:02 of regulation, and Max Domi recorded the overtime winner.
After dropping the first four games of the New Year, the Jets are 4-0-1 in their last five games coming into Chicago. Still, Winnipeg is one of two teams that currently sit below the Blackhawks in the NHL standings, with just 44 points through 47 games this season. Chicago has 45 points through 48 games.
Monday marks the first-ever visit to the United Center for former Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews as an opposing player. Toews, who led the team to three Stanley Cup championships (2010, 2013, and 2015), is playing in his first season with his hometown Jets. The 37-year-old forward has 18 points (7G, 11A) in 47 games and has produced a point in eight of his last 12 outings. He’ll surely receive a video tribute and get showered with cheers in his first career game against Chicago.

Andre Burakovsky was not on the ice for the Blackhawks morning skate, and Colton Dach skated in his place on the top line with Connor Bedard and Ryan Greene. He’s been deemed a game-time decision due to an illness and a family matter.
Should Burakovsky not play, Sam Lafferty will draw into the lineup for the first time since Dec. 28.
Frank Nazar and Teuvo Teravainen will both miss Monday’s game due to injury. Nazar could return from his facial injury on Thursday against Carolina. There still hasn’t been a timeline given for Teravainen to return from an upper-body injury.

Knight will make his 33rd start of the season for the Blackhawks. The 24-year-old allowed two goals on 22 shots faced to record the loss in his most recent start on Thursday against the Calgary Flames. Knight is 0-2-1 with a 5.34 GAA and .854 Sv% in three career games against Winnipeg.
Hellebuyck is expected to make his 30th start of the season for the Jets. The 32-year-old netminder allowed four goals on 37 shots faced in an overtime loss to the Maple Leafs on Saturday. Hellebuyck is 21-7-1 with a 2.27 GAA and .922 Sv% in 29 career games against Chicago.
