The Detroit Red Wings get set for the second half of their back-to-back on Tuesday night, as they pay a visit to the Boston Bruins.
The Red Wings are coming off a hard-fought win on Sergei Fedorov’s jersey retirement. After squandering a 3-0 lead, Detroit managed to come away with an overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Red Wings are quietly one of the best teams in the NHL. Though fans in Hockeytown cannot believe how that statement might be true, the team continues to put together strong efforts to maintain a posture near the top of the Eastern Conference standings.
Following their meeting with the Hurricanes, Detroit has won five of its past seven games, currently holding first place in the Atlantic Division, one point ahead of the second-place Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Bruins are trying to keep up with the Wings as they strive to get back into a playoff spot. Following a decisive win over the New York Rangers on Saturday, Boston hosted the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday, coming away with a 1-0 win. The B’s sit fifth in the Atlantic, right outside a Wild Card spot.
These two teams met for the first time this year back in December, when the Wings came away with a 5-4 win on home ice.
