Gladiators edge Jacksonville Icemen in ECHL hockey – The Florida Times-Union

Turning point: Chad Nychuk scored the go-ahead goal at 5:25 of the second period and the Atlanta Gladiators defeated the Jacksonville Icemen 3-2 in ECHL hockey on Dec. 7 in Gas South Arena, taking two of three from the weekend series.

Penalty box: Jacksonville’s Kolby Johnson squared off in a second-period fight against Ryan Conroy of the Gladiators (14-5-0-0). … The Icemen had no power-play opportunities during the game.
Around the rink: Sylvester scored only 45 seconds into the game for a quick Atlanta lead. … Garrett Van Wyhe marked his return from a slew-footing suspension with a third-period goal for Jacksonville (10-11-0-0). … Matteo Costantini also scored for the Icemen in the first period. … Jacksonville goaltender Cameron Rowe saved 31 shots.
