LeBlanc's prediction: Draisaitl's heater carries into Hockey Night in Canada’s nightcap.
NHL
The Winnipeg Jets will face off against the Edmonton Oilers tonight, marking the first meeting between these two Western Canadian teams this season.
My Jets vs. Oilers predictions suggest another high-scoring, high-octane duel between two of Canada’s top teams.

Jets vs Oilers Best bet: Leon Draisaitl Over 0.5 assists (-140)
Although it’s captain Connor McDavid who leads the Edmonton Oilers with 26 assists, Draisaitl has been feeling extra generous as of late. The 30-year-old has collected at least one assist in 10 of his last 11 games, and is fresh off a three-helper, four-point outing against Seattle on Thursday night.
Draisaitl is technically on pace for his worst statistical season since 2017-18 (still on pace to crack 100 points), but he and the Oilers have won three of the last five, and the superstar is heating up heading into tonight’s matchup with the Winnipeg Jets.
He’s only been prevented from being a helper once since November 13, so take advantage of Draisaitl’s generous market.
Winnipeg forward Mark Scheifele leads the team with 21 assists and has collected a helper in four consecutive games. Furthermore, he’s set at plus-odds to record another tonight as he faces an Oilers squad that ranks 29th in goals allowed. The Jets centre has eight assists in his last nine games and is on pace for the first 100-point season of his career.
Given that both teams rank in the top half of the league in goals scored, coupled with Edmonton’s lacklustre defence and goaltending, all signs point to this late-night clash being a high-scoring thriller. Edmonton beat Seattle on Thursday in a game that consisted of 13 goals scored.
