Canucks vs Hurricanes Best bet: Over 6.5 (+105)
At least seven goals have been scored in nine of the past 10 Vancouver Canucks games. Taking things a step further, we’ve seen eight goals or more in three of the past five.
The Canucks have allowed 39 goals spanning their last 10, tied for third-most in the league. In an effort to compensate, they’ve leaned even heavier into a track meet style and ramped things up offensively.
Vancouver has generated 33 shots or more in four of the past five. No team in the NHL has recorded more shots than the Canucks during that stretch.
It just so happens tonight’s opponent, the Carolina Hurricanes, are the only team to match the Canucks. They’ve also recorded exactly 172 shots on target and have cleared 30 in four of five.
The Hurricanes are dealing with multiple injuries on defense, playing without Jaccob Slavin and Jalen Chatfield. This has hampered their ability to tighten the screws and lock teams down defensively, making it that much more important they produce offensively.
Expect both teams to contribute their fair share of goals in another high-event affair.
Brock Boeser’s bread-and-butter is shooting the puck. He’s done so plenty of late, attempting at least five shots in four of five. The Hurricanes have an .892 team SV%e and are still without key defensive personnel, so he should be a real threat to score.
Sebastian Aho’s shot volume is noticeably higher on home soil. He should have plenty of opportunities against a Canucks team that has given up the fifth-most shots to centers over the last 10.
The Canucks have hit the Over in 46 of their last 86 games (+5.45 Units / 6% ROI). Find more NHL betting trends for Canucks vs. Hurricanes.
