The NHL week six standouts to watch include elite teams like the Avalanche and the Ducks. There are some key games to watch this weekend.
There has been plenty of interesting NHL action this past week, with some teams excelling, like the Avalanche, and others struggling, like the Bruins. However, there are only six teams below .500 at this point. The schedule looks to get busy as the holidays approach. Here is a look at some week six standouts.
The Avalanche looks like the NHL’s only elite team in week six. It’s been fun to watch their insane run to start the season, beating the Rangers, Predators, and Blackhawks to extend their nine-game win streak. Their goalie tandem is a big reason for their success as they continue to perform at a high level.
Another team that has been fun to watch is the Wild, who are garnering some attention in week six. They recently dominated the slate of NHL action with five straight wins, including three shutouts. The Lightning and Ducks are another set of standouts to watch this week. The Lightning is starting to look like the contenders they were predicted to be. This past week, they won all three games. While the Ducks still sit atop the Pacific Division with the fourth most points behind the Golden Knights and the Avalanche.
The Bruins and Stars stand out for different reasons. They are both coming off difficult weeks with some unnecessary losses. In fact, the Bruins’ penalties have cost them crucial points. The Stars are facing some mistakes, including suspensions for dangerous hits.
Thanksgiving week is unique as far as the NHL schedule goes, with 15 games on Wednesday and 15 on Friday. Some key matchups include the Rangers vs. the Bruins, the Avalanche vs. the Wild, and the Kings vs. the Ducks. It seems like there will be division rivalries in the West. Therefore, fans should have plenty of NHL action to entertain them this holiday weekend.
It’s been a fun month and a half of the NHL regular season. Some fans believe that the standings at this point may predict the postseason or at least give an idea of who will be in. Stay tuned for more sports and entertainment content.
