The University of Vermont men’s hockey team dropped its third straight game in a row at Gutterson Fieldhouse after a 5-1 loss against Harvard College.
The Crimson overwhelmed the Catamounts with three straight unanswered goals in the first period, leading to a 3-1 advantage after the first 20 minutes. Harvard added another goal apiece in the second and third periods for the eventual 5-1 finish.
Blake Steenerson scored the first goal of the game less than three minutes in to give Vermont the initial 1-0 advantage.
Harvard’s five straight goals came from Marek Hejduk, Aidan Lane, Mick Thompson, Philip Tresca and Casey Severo on a power play goal.
