The Detroit Red Wings look to grab another win on Saturday night when they play host to the Buffalo Sabres.
The Red Wings were feeling really pretty gloomy after a couple of disappointing losses on home ice last weekend, scoring just two goals in defeats at the hands of the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks. However, optimism turned thanks to a strong performance on Thursday night.
A wild second period against the Anaheim Ducks saw Detroit put itself in the lead after 40 minutes. The great play of captain Dylan Larkin and Alex DeBrincat helped secure the deal in the third, as the Wings snapped their three-game losing streak with a solid 6-3 victory.
They now host a Sabres team that has been rebuilding for over a decade. While they have young stars like Alex Tuch and Tage Thompson, Buffalo cannot find a way to create a winning team. The Sabres are looking to snap a five-game losing skid on Saturday night, after losing 6-3 to the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.
This is the second of three meetings between the Wings and Sabres this season. Buffalo pulled out a 4-2 victory on home ice against Detroit on Oct. 22.
