Here’s why I’m backing an UNDER bet below in my Golden Knights Blues free pick & gambling prediction for this matchup.
As the NHL regular season gets rolling, the Vegas Golden Knights head into Enterprise Center to clash with the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The puck drops at 8:00 PM ET on ESPN+, giving fans a primetime look at two teams hungry for traction early in the year.
Vegas brings a 7-5-5 record into this matchup under head coach Bruce Cassidy. Although they’ve flashed stretches of quality hockey, their 3-4 conference mark and a string of one-goal losses — including tight setbacks to the Islanders and Panthers — show they still haven’t found a consistent rhythm.
Meanwhile, the Blues enter at 6-9-4 under Jim Montgomery and are searching for momentum of their own.
Their 5-6 conference record says “in the mix” more than “contender,” but a recent 5-goal offensive showing against Philadelphia and a solid win over Calgary prove they’re still capable of popping offensively when the matchups break right.
Historically, Vegas has held the edge in this series. They swept the Blues in the 2025 regular season and outscored them by an average of 1.5 goals per meeting.
With both squads chasing early-season footing, this one offers a chance to course-correct and climb the standings.

Vegas enters as the road favorite at -144 on the MoneyLine, while St. Louis sits at +121, giving home-ice backers a little value. The puck line leans Golden Knights at -1.5 (+173), suggesting a likely tight matchup, and the total of 6.0 hints at respectable scoring chances on both ends.
Recently, the Golden Knights have run cold, dropping four of their last five — all by one goal. However, they did notch a shutout win over the Red Wings earlier this month, showing they still have the defensive ceiling to dominate stretches.
We want to hear from you below! Comments are welcome! Give us your picks for this Vegas Golden Knights vs. St. Louis Blues NHL matchup.
St. Louis remains unpredictable. They’ve taken some heavy blows, like their 6-5 loss to the Flyers, but their recent win over Calgary shows their offense can catch fire quickly. Back at home, they’ll try to ride that spark into a full 60-minute effort.
First, the Blues’ offense has produced a respectable 52 goals, ranking 13th in the league. Their 84 assists also keep them inside the NHL’s top 20, and an efficient power play (11 PPG, 8th) has been one of their few steady strengths.
Additionally, this team can hit. They rank 5th in the NHL with 430 hits, and their 266 blocks place them 11th — a sign of commitment in the defensive zone. Still, the 235 giveaways (2nd-most in the league) remain a glaring issue that keeps sabotaging momentum.
Offensively, Jordan Kyrou and Robert Thomas lead the charge with consistent production, while Justin Faulk continues to contribute on both ends with 4 goals, 6 assists, and 38 blocks.
In net, Jordan Binnington has logged 13 starts with 258 saves and 4 wins, while Joel Hofer has contributed 2 wins in 8 appearances. Neither goaltender has fully settled in yet, which reflects the team’s uneven record.
First, the Golden Knights enter this matchup licking their wounds after dropping four of their last five — again, all one-goal defeats. That trend is a familiar early-season warning sign: competitive, but not closing.
Offensively, Jack Eichel continues to carry the load with 23 points in 16 games, and Mitchell Marner isn’t far behind with 19 points. Ivan Barbashev adds toughness and scoring touch, supplying 16 points and 26 hits. Vegas is generating chances; they just haven’t turned enough of them into two-point nights.
Between the pipes, Akira Schmid has handled most of the workload with 193 saves and 6 wins in 9 games. Meanwhile, Carl Lindbom has struggled in limited action with three straight losses. That imbalance in net is something Vegas will need to manage carefully if they want to stabilize.
Finally, the Knights sit comfortably in the league’s top half in goals and assists, but giveaways and faceoff issues continue to haunt them. If they clean up those details, their ceiling rises quickly — especially with their top-six producing at this clip.
Vegas Golden Knights vs. St. Louis Blues bottom line: Vegas is the more complete team, even with recent stumbles, and their play-driving advantage should matter over 60 minutes.
Here is my Blues Golden Knights free pick. The Blues have been generating offense lately, scoring at least 3 goals in 4 of their last 5 games, which shows they’re finishing chances at a steady clip. However, their pace hasn’t always translated into high totals because they’ve also tightened up defensively when needed. Consequently, even when their offense shows up, the overall game flow often stays controlled.
Meanwhile, the Golden Knights have been trending in a very different direction offensively. They’ve failed to reach 3 goals in 4 of their last 5 outings, and that scoring drought is the biggest anchor on their totals. Moreover, their defense has kept games close by limiting high-danger chances, which naturally leans toward lower final scores. When Vegas dictates tempo, games tend to grind.
Given Vegas’ scoring struggles and their ability to slow opponents down, the under 6 feels like the sharpest angle.
Furthermore, recent Golden Knights games consistently stay tight because of their conservative style and lack of finishing touch. Even though St. Louis has been scoring, the matchup suggests fewer clean looks and a slower pace — exactly the type of game that plays toward an under.
