Detroit Red Wings vs. Florida Panthers: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props – news.bet365.com

The second week of the new NHL season continues with a battle between the Detroit Red Wings and Florida Panthers.
This Eastern Conference battle kicks off a four-game slate in the NHL, and should provide lots of great hockey action.
Florida has kicked off their season going 3-0-0, but are coming off a tough 5-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.
This is a setback they will look to wipe away real quick, and what better way to do that than with a win.
Detroit, meanwhile, is 2-1-0 with both wins coming against a strong Toronto Maple Leafs team. This can only do wonders for their confidence early in the year.
Early into this season, Florida has been proving many things. First, they are showing that the team is not one bit fatigued overall.
The organization has made the Stanley Cup Finals in each of the last three seasons and a large chunk of players from these rosters remain on the team, and their strong start has shown they need no extra rest.
Florida has also faced numerous key injuries. Captain Alex Barkov and star forward Matthew Tkachuk are currently out with long-term injuries, but it has not slowed Florida down.
Their depth is unmatched in this league, and no matter what mix of players they have, a majority of them shine.
Their roster construction is much finer than Detroit who are within a retooling phase.
Florida clearly look like they should dominate this match-up, but they are also coming off of a somewhat embarrassing effort, when losing 5-2 to a weaker Flyers team.
However, they should bounce back strongly with head coach Paul Maurice ensuring his team are ready for this one.
In their last two games, the Panthers have been involved in some high-scoring affairs. They led the way in a 6-2 win over the Ottawa Senators, before their big 5-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.
Florida is averaging 3.25 goals per game, and the Red Wings average 3.33 goals against per game.
After a large loss in their last game, expect the Panthers to be extremely determined for a blow out victory to wipe the slate clean.
The Red Wings look set to be in for a tough task in their defensive zone but Detroit, who are averaging 3.3 goals per game, should be able to join in on the goalscoring after two-straight wins, home ice advantage, and many talented offensive players.
The Red Wings have many key players throughout the roster that can be a threat on any given night, and Alex DeBrincat is near the top of that list.
So far DeBrincat has accumulated four assists in three games, but has yet to find the back of the net. This is a great time for him to do so.
DeBrincat is averaging four shots per game and over 18 minutes of ice time, numbers that may even be increased in this matchup.
He led the team in goals last season (39), and has scored 25+ goals 7 times in his career. He is a true offensive threat, and should get on the scoresheet again in this clash.
