Forward penalized $5,000 for actions against Jets defenseman Stanley

NEW YORK — Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Winnipeg Jets defenseman Logan Stanley during NHL Game No. 182 in Winnipeg on Saturday, Nov. 1, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 15:37 of the first period. Malkin was assessed a minor penalty for slashing.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund
