The Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series Champions. Perhaps that softened the blow for the Los Angeles Kings, who were dealt a loss at the glove and pads of New Jersey Devils netminder, Jacob Markstrom.
What a bounce back performance from the 35-year-old. To go from the beat down he suffered at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche, to the performance he turned in on Saturday, is impressive. A complete 180 degrees, if you will.
More on Markstrom’s Saturday night in Hollywood below.
Elsewhere, Evgeny Kuznetsov did what? Multiple NHL head coaches offering tough love, and more!
Let’s do that hockey.
New Jersey Hockey Now: That’s what you want to see from the newly paid goaltender. Jacob Markstrom turned in his strongest performance of the season, while Dawson Mercer stayed hot in the Devils’ 4-1 win over the Kings, snapping their two-game skid.
More NJHN: Another key injury, this time Connor Brown, forces head coach Sheldon Keefe to make major changes to the Devils lines ahead of their tilt with the Kings.
Devils Rink Report: Arthur Staple joined me to explain on the latest Devils Rink Report why the Jacob Markstrom extension is bang on.

New Jersey Devils
Vegas Hockey Now: Sheldon Keefe isn’t the only head coach for a top team ripping into his own. Bruce Cassidy is not happy with the Vegas Golden Knights, and he’s not into making excuses about it.
Boston Hockey Now: No player is ever happy being scratched from the starting lineup. Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm hopes that defenseman Mason Lohrei is more than displeased after sending him a stern message.
San Jose Hockey Now: With the San Jose Sharks, is Philipp Kurashev playing the best hockey of his career? He seems to think so.
Detroit Hockey Now: This is certainly something. Detroit has banned the use of smokeless tobacco products, and it, in fact, impacts the Detroit Red Wings.
Daily Faceoff: Perhaps it’s better off for the NHL that Evgeny Kuznetsov didn’t come back to this side of the pond. The former Washington Capital bailed on his KHL team MID-GAME! More here.
