Penn State is looking to wrap up another home weekend series with a win on Saturday evening. In the final game before jumping into Big Ten play next week, Penn State will host Stonehill to wrap up a weekend series in the Pegula Ice Arena on Saturday evening.
Penn State’s hot start has been fueled by Matt DiMarsico, who was named the Big Ten First-Star of the week after scoring a hat trick in one game against LIU and then followed that up with three assists the next day. DiMarsico is second in the nation in goals scored, sitting one behind fellow Penn State star JJ Wiebusch. New star in the making, Gavin McKenna, has recorded three assists on Penn State power plays this season
Stonehill, entering its fourth season as a Division 1 hockey program, is off to a 1-4 start this season, but the Skyhawks are coming off their first win of the year, a 3-2 victory over Sacred Heart last Saturday. Senior Frankie Ireland scored on a short-handed opportunity to give Stonehill the eventual game-winning goal.
Penn State vs. Stonehill will broadcast exclusively on B1G+, the Big Ten’s official subscription-based streaming platform. The puck drops from the Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pennsylvania at 6:00 p.m. ET.
