Michigan State hockey is heading to the U.P. this weekend for a former conference rivalry with the Northern Michigan Wildcats.
For a second straight week, Michigan State is on the road, this time heading up north for a two-game series with the Wildcats. The first game will be played on Friday night, with the second game following on Saturday evening.
Michigan State comes into this game off an impressive sweep of previous-No. 1 Boston University last weekend. That two-game sweep of the Terriers pushed the Spartans to 3-1-0 overall on the year and to the No. 1 ranking in the USCHO.com poll this week.
Northern Michigan is off to a less impressive start to the year, with the Wildcats still searching for their first win of the season. Northern Michigan is 0-6-0 thus far, with all six of their losses coming against ranked opponents.
