The Detroit Red Wings are back on the road on Wednesday night, as they look to keep the good times rolling against the Buffalo Sabres.
The Red Wings remain the hottest team in the NHL in the early going, using home ice to their massive advantage. Five of the team’s first games of the 2025-26 season were at Little Caesars Arena, with Detroit only dropping its season opener to the Montreal Canadiens.
In their recent three-game homestand, the Red Wings knocked off the Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Edmonton Oilers, extending their win streak to five games. The lone road game for Detroit came nine days ago, which was a win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
They take on a Sabres team that is two days removed from facing the Canadiens on the road. It has been another bumpy start for Buffalo, which is still trying to find a way out of its rebuild.
