Hurricanes vs Golden Knights Best bet: Hurricanes moneyline (-110)
There is no denying the Vegas Golden Knights are among the best teams in hockey. That said, the Carolina Hurricanes are the best team in hockey, at least so far this season.
Carolina is the only unbeaten team remaining with a perfect 5-0 start to the campaign. The Canes are also the only club in the league to rank in the Top 3 in both expected goals for per 60 minutes (xGF/60) and expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60).
They outrank Vegas in each of those two key categories. Not only is Carolina superior both offensively and defensively, but it also holds the goaltending edge with Frederik Andersen starting in net.
Meanwhile, Adin Hill is slated to start across the ice. This season, Andersen outranks Hill in wins, SV% and GAA.
The only advantage Vegas holds in this matchup is home ice. While that provides a slight boost, it doesn’t outweigh Carolina’s overall edge in talent and form.

There may not be a better combination to back than Seth Jarvis and Nikolaj Ehlers, who skate together on both the first line and the first power-play unit.
Jarvis leads the team, and ranks second in the league, in goals with six through the first five games, while Ehlers has recorded five or more shots on goal in three of his past four outings.
