The NHL is already back, but there’s even more hockey returning this week.
The East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) is set for its 38th season with an eight-game slate opening the new campaign on Friday, Oct. 17.

The league will officially have 30 teams this season after the addition of the ECHL’s newest member, the Greensboro Gargoyles. In total, 30 of the 32 NHL teams have an affiliation with an ECHL team.
