CANADIENS VS CAPITALS PREDICTION, PICKS & BEST BETS FOR TONIGHT'S NHL PLAYOFFS GAME 5 – Covers.com

The Canadiens had some life heading into the third period of Game 4, but now face elimination in Washington. As Ryan Gilbert explains, Cole Caulfield will need to come up big if the Habs want to extend the series.
NHL
The Washington Capitals will try to close out their series against the Montreal Canadiens tonight at Capital One Arena.
However, my Canadiens vs. Capitals predictions target Cole Caufield to find the back of the net in the best NHL picks on Wednesday, April 30.
The Montreal Canadiens gave their home fans some excitement with a 6-3 win while outshooting the Washington Capitals 40-21. However, the Capitals bounced back to silence Montreal with a 5-2 win in Game 4 with the Habs’ two goals both coming on the power play.
The Capitals are 28-9-6 at home this season while the Canadiens are 17-20-6 on the road. The Habs have a bright future, but the Caps are going to close it out here in Game 5.
My Canadiens vs Capitals pick: Cole Caufield to score (+180 at Sports Interaction)
Montreal Canadiens winger Cole Caufield has been all over the ice in this first-round series. He leads the Canadiens in shots on goal (21), shot attempts (38), and is behind only linemate Juraj Slafkovsky in scoring chances (14) and high-danger chances (6).
The diminutive winger has come up big on the game’s biggest stage. He scored in Games 1, 3, and 4 of this series and has become the main triggerman on the power play with Patrik Laine out.
Caufield had 37 goals in 82 regular-season games, so he now has 40 goals in 86 games this season. He’s scored a goal in 33 of 86 games overall for a 38% hit rate, which is slightly better than the 35.71% implied by this +180 price.

Caufield to score

Ovechkin to score

Capitals moneyline
Alex Ovechkin had 44 goals in just 65 games in the regular season and has three through four games in the playoffs. Whether it be from his office on the power play, at even strength, or even an empty-netter, Ovi is a great bet to find the back of the net in a clinching game.
Back the big guns to both score and the Caps to take care of business at a 6/1 price.
