The NHL isn’t the only hockey league returning this week.
Oct. 10 marks the start of the 90th year of the American Hockey League (AHL) with all 32 teams serving as affiliates for their respective NHL franchises.

Last year, the Abbotsford Canucks — Vancouver’s affiliate — captured the Calder Cup, hoisting the trophy for the first time in franchise history. Abbotsford snapped a two-year title streak for the Hershey Bears, who were vying for a three-peat.
What does the new season have in store?
Here is everything that you need to know about the 2025-26 AHL season, including TV and streaming options for games.

The 2025-26 AHL regular season begins on Friday, Oct. 10, and ends on Sunday, April 19, with each team scheduled to play 72 regular-season games.
