MAPLE LEAFS VS PANTHERS PREDICTION, PICKS & ODDS FOR TONIGHT’S NHL GAME – Covers.com

Mitch Marner drives the Maple Leafs' power play, which is clicking right now. The man advantage is the best way to beat the otherwise-fearsome Panthers at the moment, which is why our NHL betting picks will back Marner to tally a PPP tonight.
NHL
We have nine games on the NHL betting slate tonight, including an Atlantic Division rivalry between the Florida Panthers and the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena.
Mitch Marner has torched the Panthers throughout his career, and my Maple Leafs vs. Panthers predictions are backing him to record a point tonight on the man advantage to keep the Leafs’ red-hot power play rolling.
Find out why with my free NHL picks for this Thursday, March 13 matchup.
My Leafs pick: Mitch Marner Over 0.5 power play points (+195 at Sports Interaction)
My Leafs analysis
A valuable two points are up for grabs when the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Florida Panthers tonight.
The Buds are coming off a win in Utah but went 1-2 on their Western road trip. Meanwhile, the Panthers suffered their first loss in seven games in their last outing against Boston. It was also the first time in seven games that the Cats surrendered a power play goal.
Special teams success is essential when playing the Panthers as they have allowed a league-low 1.11 goals per 60 minutes at 5-on-5 over their last seven games.
Luckily, the Leafs’ power play has been on fire lately, scoring in six of its last seven games, converting at a 34% clip. Considering the Panthers are the most penalized team in hockey with 271 trips to the sin bin, the Leafs should be able to capitalize on one of those opportunities with their red-hot power play.
As a group, the Leafs sit fifth in the NHL in high-danger chances on the man-advantage. Surprisingly, this is a spot that the Panthers have struggled with while killing penalties, giving up the ninth-most high-danger chances in the league.
The Leafs’ man advantage often runs through Mitch Marner, as he leads the Maple Leafs with 27 power play points, 19 of which are primary points, including a PPG in the last meeting against the Panthers back on November 27.
Additionally, the Leafs star winger has piled up points against Florida throughout his career with 13 goals and 36 points in 27 games, 12 of them coming via the power play.

Mitch Marner 2+ shots on goal

Auston Matthews 3+ shots on goal

Under 6.5
For the first leg of our SGP, we will mirror my Marner best bet with his shots prop and take him to record two or more SOG tonight.
He’s averaging 2.25 shots per game this season and has recorded 2+ in six of his last seven outings against the Cats.
Next up, we’ll continue with shot props and take Auston Matthews to record 3+ shots on goal tonight.
Matthews has been unlucky with his shooting lately, but it hasn’t stopped him from firing pucks on net. He’s averaging 4.8 shots per game over his last five games and has 48 shots against the Panthers in his last 10 meetings against the club.
For the final leg of our SGP, I’ll take the alternate Under of 6.5 goals. This prop is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between these two clubs.
It’s been hard to score on the Panthers, who have a 1.30 GAA over their last 10 games, hitting the Under in eight of their last 10 outings.
