The Blackhawks begin the 2025 preseason on Tuesday night with a road matchup against the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena. All Blackhawks preseason games are available to stream at no cost on CHSN and the CHSN App. Out-of-market viewers can tune-in on ESPN+.

This marks the first time since the 2019-20 season that Chicago will open preseason play on the road. During the 2024-25 season, Chicago began the preseason with a 4-2 loss to the Red Wings at the United Center. Teuvo Teravainen found the back of the net, while Connor Bedard and Ryan Donato each recorded an assist.
The current training camp roster has 53 players, including 30 forwards, 17 defensemen and six goaltenders. The Blackhawks opened training camp with 53 players.
