Despite being acquitted of sexual assault charges related to a 2018 incident, five former members of Canada’s world junior hockey team will remain ineligible to play in the NHL until at least December 1. The NHL, while acknowledging the acquittals, stated that the players’ conduct fell short of league standards. Training camps of NHL teams are scheduled to open next week, with the regular season set to begin on October 7.
