The Cloverdale Jr. Hockey Club will play an exhibition game Thursday.
According to a source close to the situation, the game is being sanctioned by the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL).
Cloverdale will play at 7 p.m. in The Barn Sept. 11.
This comes on the heels of the PJHL issuing (Sept. 9) a 4-sentence statement about the end of operations for what would have been Cloverdale’s inaugural season.
“Regrettably, the Cloverdale Hockey Club has not been able to satisfy necessary league bylaws in order to operate as a member club in good standing, and as a result is not eligible to participate in PJHL-sanctioned activities,” the statement read.
According to the statement, Cloverdale's status with the league “may be reviewed in the event that league bylaws are satisfied.”
The statement hinted that approval could be granted by the PJ’s board of directors at a later date.
The upcoming exhibition game will be against the White Rock Whalers.
More info to come …
