The San Diego Gulls, the AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, didn’t end off last season like they’d hoped, coming second to last in the Pacific Division with 66 points and missing out on the Calder Cup Playoffs. 
Although the Gulls claimed a losing record of 29-35-5-3 from 2024-2025, it was their best showing since the 2019-2020 season.
San Diego still remains the hub of fresh talent for the Anaheim Ducks, with five new signees beginning their NHL careers in the last two months.

The San Diego Gulls had a 29-35-5-3 record in the 2024-2025 season and garnered 66 points in the Pacific Division, finishing in ninth place. 
The head coach of the San Diego Gulls is Matt McIlvane, and he enters his third season at the helm. He was named head coach in April of 2023 and brought Olympic experience with him as he was an assistant coach for Germany in the 2018 Olympics.

The Abbotsford Canucks won the finals of the 2025 Calder Cup playoffs against the Charlotte Checkers in six games. It’s the franchise’s first Calder Cup.
