The Jets. Winnipeg evened up the series with a 4-0 win in Game 2 as goaltender Connor Hellebuyck collected his first shutout of the postseason. Below, I dive into why he and the Jets will ride that momentum in Game 3.
My Jets vs Stars pick: Jets moneyline (+125 at BET99)
The concern with the Winnipeg Jets in these early rounds was the play of Connor Hellebuyck, who has notoriously struggled in the postseason. However, those concerns were put to bed with his dominant performance in Game 2.
Hellebuyck stopped all 21 shots he faced en route to a shutout victory. If he is returning to his regular season form, then the Dallas Stars are in trouble moving forward.
The Jets’ netminder was the best in the league, and he (should) unanimously win the Vezina Trophy. That in itself should give the Jets the upper hand in this matchup, especially with Jake Oettinger starting across the ice.
Dating back to the regular season, Oettinger has surrendered three or more goals in eight of his past 12 games. He is 5-7 over that stretch with a .895 SV% and 3.35 GAA.

If the Jets are to win once again, it will likely be on the shoulders of Hellebuyck. He is the best goaltender in the world and is looking to put those previous postseason struggles to bed.
