Golden Knights vs Kings Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NHL Game – Covers.com

Even against an elite shot-suppression unit and defense like the Kings, Golden Knights forward Pavel Dorofeyev will find a way to clear his SOG total tonight in L.A.
This article contains predictions for an old game!
The Vegas Golden Knights hit the road for a quick trip to take on the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena tonight. Both have a win under their belt coming out of the break as Vegas took down Vancouver 3-1 and LA beat Utah 5-3.
My Golden Knights vs. Kings predictions expect an under-the-radar winger to go over his shots on goal prop in the best NHL picks on Monday, February 24.
My best bet
Pavel Dorofeyev Over 2.5 shots on goal (-115 at DraftKings)
My analysis
Pavel Dorofeyev is quietly putting together a solid season for the Vegas Golden Knights. The winger primarily skates on the team’s second line with Tomas Hertl as his center and he’s currently on the top power-play unit.
Dorofeyev has 36 points and 170 shots on goal in 57 games this season for an average of 2.98 per game. He’s just as happy shooting on the road (84 SOG in 28 games) as he is at home (86 in 29) and has been shooting at a high volume of late.
The 24-year-old had five shots on goal (10 total attempts) in Saturday’s win over the Canucks for his fourth-straight game with 3+ SOG. In fact, Dorofeyev had eight shot attempts in each of his final two games heading into the break — both on the road.
The Los Angeles Kings are one of the stingier teams in terms of limiting shots on goal against but that hasn’t been a problem for Dorofeyev. He had four SOG in each of the two meetings against LA back in October.
On the season, Dorofeyev has 3+ SOG in 37 of 57 games and 4+ in 21 of those. Even given the context of playing on the road against a team like the Kings, getting -115 odds (53.49% implied probability) on Dorofeyev’s 64.91% hit rate is a look I can’t pass up.

Pavel Doorfeyev  3+ shots on goal

Kings moneyline

Under 5.5
Although I expect Dorofeyev to get a handful of shots on goal, it’s hard to bet against the Kings on home ice this season. Los Angeles is an impressive 18-3-2 at home while Vegas has as many wins as losses on the road (14-11-3).
This should be a low-scoring game, though, with the Kings and Golden Knights ranking fifth and sixth, respectively, in average goals against this season.
