PENN STATE VS BOSTON UNIVERSITY PREDICTION, PICKS & ODDS FOR TONIGHT’S FROZEN FOUR GAME – Covers.com

Jonny Lazarus expects a Nittany Lions win in his Penn State vs. Boston University predictions for this Frozen Four semifinal.
The late matchup in the Frozen Four is the one I am looking forward to most: Boston University against Penn State.
The Nittany Lions are the hottest team in college hockey, and my Boston University vs. Penn State predictions and free betting picks expect them to pull off the upset on April 10.
My best bet: Penn State moneyline (+130 at FanDuel)
My analysis
The Penn State Nittany Lions have done nothing but win. Since January 11, Penn State has won 17 of its last 20 games.
Offensively, this team has a ton of firepower, like Aiden Fink, who lit it up with 23 goals and 30 assists for 53 points in 39 games. Penn State was one of the highest-scoring teams in the country this year — scoring 3.54 goals per game — ranking it seventh in the nation.
The Lions might lack experience, but they have a ton of talented underclassmen like Charlie Cerrato, J.J. Wiebusch, and Matt DiMarsico, who have helped carry this team up front. Meanwhile, netminder Arsenii Sergeev has been lights out in goal for the Nittany Lions, boasting a .918 SV% and a 2.56 GAA.
Boston University is loaded with a ton of NHL draft picks, with guys like Cole Hutson and Cole Eiserman who are the most exciting. Their play has been a bit inconsistent at times, and they’ve had some tough first periods as of late.
The Terriers are always scary this time of year, but they’ve been allowing 2.95 goals against per game, and they’re the most penalized team in college hockey — averaging 13:50 per game in the box.
Penn State’s power play is clicking at a 23.9%, which could be the biggest difference in the game. Mikhail Yegorov has also been outstanding in goal for BU, but he’s been a tad more leaky than Sergeev.
I think the Nittany Lions go to their first national championship.

Jonny Lazarus has loved hockey for as long as he can remember. After his Division I playing career at UMass-Amherst and Mercyhurst University came to an end in 2020, he transitioned from being a player to working in the media. He might be young in his career, but he has made appearances in numerous places like the NHL, and Bleacher Report, and this season he will be doing color commentary for a selection of UMass-Amherst hockey games.
