Connor McDavid being the Hart Trophy odds favorite at our best NHL betting sites is about as surprising as Calgary Flames fans’ joyous mood after the Edmonton Oilers’ second consecutive Cup defeat.
No. 97 is searching for his fourth Hart Trophy, and who knows what level he will reach after consecutive gut-wrenching bridesmaid campaigns. Knowing what he’s capable of, I expect more from the Oilers captain than last season’s output.
He’ll have some stiff competition, though, as former winners Nathan MacKinnon and Nikita Kucherov will invariably be in the mix throughout.

I backed the Colorado Avalanche in my Stanley Cup odds, and I’m doubling down on MacKinnon to win his second Hart Trophy. He was sublime again last season, finishing second with 116 points, five behind Kucherov.
With Gabriel Landeskog back in the mix, MacKinnon should be even more deadly on the power play. And remember, the Avalanche got off to a brutal start last year.
That didn’t impact MacKinnon’s numbers, but if the team is more successful, he’ll likely post even more points from the outset. BetMGM offers the best odds (+450), which imply an 18.18% win probability.
