CANTON — St. Lawrence University has announced the 2025-26 schedule for the men’s hockey team’s centennial season, set to begin Oct. 4 on the road.
The Saints will play a schedule that features 12 nonconference games, including an appearance in the Adirondack Winter Invitational in Lake Placid and the university’s Legends of Appleton celebration in November.
The Saints are slated to begin their 100th season with a pair of road games Oct. 4 and 5 at Niagara and Canisius universities. The Saints will then travel to play at Vermont on Oct. 10 before returning home for their Appleton Arena debut Sunday, Oct. 12, also against Vermont.
St. Lawrence then plays a pair of games at Notre Dame on Oct. 16 and 17, followed by an exhibition game against the University of Toronto on Oct. 25 in Canton. The Saints then wrap up October with a home game against Lake Superior State. St. Lawrence remains at home the next night for a clash against Michigan Tech.
The Saints begin ECAC Hockey play at Rensselaer and Union on Nov. 6 and 7, respectively. They then return home for league games against Dartmouth and Harvard on Nov. 14 and 15 and the Saints will celebrate their centennial year during that homestand.
The celebration will include the induction of Ray Shero (1984) and Tom O’Connor (1975) into the Legends of Appleton.
St. Lawrence returns to the road for league matches at Princeton and Quinnipiac on Nov. 20 and 21. The Saints then participate in the Adirondack Winter Invitational over Thanksgiving break with a game against Alaska Fairbanks on Nov. 28 and UMass Lowell on Nov. 29 at 1980 Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid.
The Saints host one last ECAC series before the holiday break with games against Colgate and Cornell on Dec. 5 and 6. St. Lawrence closes out the first half with an exhibition game against the National Team Development Program on Dec. 12 at Appleton Arena.
The Saints begin 2026 with a couple of nonleague games against Stonehill College on Jan. 2-3 in Canton. St. Lawrence then plays five straight road ECAC games against Yale (Jan. 9), Brown (Jan. 10), Harvard (Jan. 16), Dartmouth (Jan. 17) and Clarkson (Jan. 23).
But St. Lawrence then plays seven straight league home games beginning with their second straight game against rival Clarkson on Jan. 24. Appleton games then follow against Quinnipiac (Jan. 30), Princeton (Jan. 31), Union (Feb. 6), RPI (Feb. 7), Brown (Feb. 20) and Yale (Feb. 21).
St. Lawrence closes out the regular season on the road for games at Cornell on Feb. 27 and Colgate on Feb. 28.
Season tickets go on sale Aug. 1 for $240 per seat. Individual game tickets will be sold online starting Sept. 8, except those for the Clarkson series, which go on sale starting Nov. 17.
SAINTS WELCOME 12 NEW PLAYERS
St. Lawrence officially announced this month a 12-player recruiting class for the 2025-26 season.
“We’re thrilled to welcome 12 new faces to the St. Lawrence Hockey family for the 2025-26 season,” said Saints head coach Brendan Brekke. “This group brings an exciting blend of skill, compete level, and size — but what stands out most is their character. They’re team-first individuals who are driven to represent our program the right way on and off the ice.”
Defender Jack Babbage, and forward Frankie Carogioiello will join the Saints as transfers.
Among the newcomers are a goaltender, six defenders, and five forwards.
Jack Babbage (Grad. Student)
Defense, Tully, N.Y., University of New Hampshire
6-1, 192 Shot: Left
The left-shot defender transfers to St. Lawrence from the University of New Hampshire, where he played in 49 games in three seasons. Babbage began his college career in the ECAC at Quinnipiac University.
Babbage finished his junior career with the USHL’s Chicago Steel, winning a Clark Cup Championship. He played in 100 games for the Steel scoring 13 times and tallying 29 assists.
Frankie Carogioiello (Senior)
Forward, Woodbridge, Ontario, Miami University (Ohio)
5-10; 186 Shot: Left
Carogioiello began his collegiate career with Miami University (Ohio) where he played in 58 games with three goals and five assists. While at Miami, Carogioiello was named to the NCHC Academic Team.
Andrew Brown
Defense, Oakville, Ontario, Cape Breton Eagles (QMJHL)
5-11, 185 Shot: Left
Brown captained the Oakville Blades of the OJHL before stints with the Nanaimo Clippers in the BCHL and the Cape Breton Eagles of the QMJHL. He is the first former Cape Breton player to commit to a Division I program.
For his junior career, Brown tallied 53 points for the Blades, 48 points with the Clippers, and 14 for the Eagles this past season in 33 games.
Sam Frandina
Defense, Alpharetta, Ga., Coquitlam Express (BCHL)
5-9, 170 Shot: Right
Frandina most recently played with the Coquitlam Express in the BCHL, where he served as assistant captain during the 2024–25 season, and tallied nine goals and 25 assists in 52 games.
The right-shot defender played 45 games the previous season with the Express, scoring five goals and tallying 16 assists. Prior to his time with the Express, Frandina played 69 games for the Chippewa Steel of the NAHL scoring eight times and providing 32 assists.
Filip Juříček
Forward, Ostrava, Czech Republic, Jokerit U20 (U20 SM-sarja)
5-10, 169 Shot: Left
Jurícek comes to North America after six seasons in SM-sarja.
This past season with Jokerit U20, he played in 33 games scoring five goals and ten assists for 15 points.
Prior to his time with Jokerit, he had a stint for JYP playing 94 games at the U20 level and scored 25 goals to go with his 15 assists.
Jakub Kopecký
Forward, Nová Dubnica, Slovakia, Bismarck Bobcats (NAHL)
6-3, 195 Shot: Left
After his time with the Slovakia U18 squad, Kopecký began his junior career with the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL Where he played in 34 games in 2022-23 scoring once and assisting on three goals. Kopecky then moved to Bismarck to play for the Bobcats in the NAHL where he played in 93 games in two seasons putting up 20 goals and 18 assists.
His passion for the game runs in the family as his father, Tomáš played in the NHL from 2005-2015 winning the Stanley Cup with the Red Wings in 2008 and the Blackhawks in 2010.
Sam LeDrew
Defense, Stillwater, Nova Scotia, West Kelowna Warriors (BCHL)
6-1, 180 Shot: Right
This past season at West Kelowna in the BCHL, LeDrew played in 50 regular season games tallying 25 goals and 22 assists for 47 points and had three points in five playoff games.
He served as team captain and helped lead his team to the New England Championship while at Kimball Union.
Teddy Mallgrave
Defense, Spring Lake, N.J., Waterloo Black Hawks (USHL)
6-3, 200 Shot: Left
Mallgrave played his prep school hockey at Kent School, where he served as team captain during his final season.
Mallgrave played just one season in juniors, skating with the Waterloo Black Hawks this past season where he played 60 games, scoring nine times and tallying three assists.
Cooper Pierson
Forward, Zionsville, Ind., Brooks Bandits (BCHL)
5-9, 175 Shot: Right
Last season, Pierson had four goals and four assists in 25 games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL before playing his final 28 games of the season with the Brooks Bandits of the BCHL, tallying 23 points on eight goals and 125 assists.
Luke Santilli
Defense, Andover, Mass., Youngstown Phantoms (USHL)
6-3, 213 Shot: Right
Santilli played junior hockey with the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL this past season, and with the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the BCHL where he earned Most Improved Player honors in 2023 and was named Top Defensive Defenseman in 2024.
Santilli played 60 games for the Phantoms on the blueline scoring once and assisting on five others. He played 101 games in Cowichan Valley in two seasons tallying 20 points on four goals and 16 assists.
Rasmus Svartström
Forward, Helsinki, Finland, Cranbrook Bucks (BCHL)
6-5; 201 Shot: Left
Svartström played junior hockey with the Cranbrook Bucks of the BCHL this past season, where he emerged as one of the league’s top offensive threats.
He set the franchise’s single-season goals record with 46, led the league in goals, and was named a finalist for league MVP honors. Svartström also provided 23 assists in 54 games for 69 points in his first season in North America.
Colin Winn
Goaltender, Westford, Mass., Alberni Valley Bulldogs (BCHL)
6-1, 195 Catches: Left
Winn played junior hockey this past season with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs .He started 39 games, going 19-17-3 with a 3.43 GAA and a .902 save percentage.
Winn then played two years in the USHL for the Youngstown Phantoms starting 48 games and providing a 3.40 GAA and a .880 save percentage and won a Clark Cup with the team.
