The Vegas Golden Knights and Vancouver Canucks finish their regular season in Vancouver at Rogers Arena tonight at 10 p.m. ET (TNT). Our Golden Knights vs. Canucks prediction and NHL picks lean toward the fresher home team picking up the victory.
The Golden Knights will be focused on avoiding any injuries entering their first-round matchup against the Minnesota Wild, with the Pacific Division long since clinched. There could be plenty of lineup changes all around with the Canucks focused on looking toward the future.
The Golden Knights lost in Calgary on Tuesday, which should also factor into tonight’s contest.

Like most teams entering the last game of the season, neither the Canucks nor the Golden Knights have much to play for. Vegas is the Pacific Division winner and will face the Wild in the first round of the playoffs.
The Golden Knights won’t risk anything untoward in Vancouver, and I expect Bruce Cassidy to make as many personnel changes as possible.
Last night in Calgary, Ilya Samsonov returned to the crease for the first time in over three weeks. He probably won’t play on consecutive nights, so Akira Schmid should get the nod, allowing Adin Hill one more game off before returning for Game 1 against the Wild.
For the Canucks, Nikita Tolopilo made his NHL debut between the pipes in a 2-1 win over San Jose on Monday. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him start again.
Considering the circumstances, I’m banking on a more fresh Canucks team securing a low-scoring victory. As one of the Stanley Cup odds contenders, the Golden Knights will be preoccupied with their looming, all-important playoff run.

Dorofeyev has been a shooting machine recently, firing at least three shots on target in six straight and seven of the previous eight. His shooting productivity is just as impressive against the Canucks, whom he’s hit the Over against in four consecutive games and five of six overall.

If you consider his current hot streak, that implied probability would increase significantly. DeBrusk has a point in each of the last four games, all goals.
He has one point in the last two games against the Golden Knights and won’t give up on the season until the horn sounds to officially end the Canucks’ disappointing campaign. That bodes well for the 28-year-old to extend his point streak to cap things off.
