The Abbotsford Canucks are Calder Cup champions for the first time in franchise history, defeating the Charlotte Checkers 3-2 in Game 6. 
Linus Karlsson scored the game-winner late in the second period, and goaltender Artūrs Šilovs stood tall with a strong third-period performance under pressure. 
Charlotte pushed hard, pulling their goalie and generating chances in the final minutes, but Abbotsford held on. 
Goals from Sammy Blais and Danila Klimovich helped erase an early deficit. It was a hard-fought, physical series—and the Canucks finish it on top. The Calder Cup is heading to Abbotsford.

Abbotsford Canucks are the AHL Champions and they will hoist the Calder Cup Trophy tonight. 
The Canucks are the champions for the first time in franchise history. 
The players are absolutely elated.
The Calder Cup will reside in Canada for the next year. 
Abbotsford is less than a minute from being the AHL Champions and holding the Calder Cup trophy. 
Charlotte has taken so many shots, they have pulled the goalie and are pressing hard in their offensive zone. 
Karlsson misses an empty-netter. 
Šilovs covers the puck after a flurry of Charlotte chances and the Checkers players did not like it. Lots of pushing and shoving in front of the net and a few players lost their helmets.
Only three minutes left now. If the Abbotsford Canucks can hold onto this 3-2 lead they will leave the Bojangles Coliseum as the 2025 AHL Champions. 
Charlotte undoubtedly will pull the goalie soon. 
John Leonard had nothing but ice between him and Šilovs, but the shot went over the net. 
On the other end, Arshdeep Bains had his shot deflected by Kahkonen. 
Five minutes left in this game. 
The Charlotte crowd is trying to get the energy going for the Checkers. 
Abbotsford is furiously defending their defensive zone as Charlotte continues to press. 
The Checkers keep an absolute onslaught going for several minutes, with multiple chances to score. Charlotte was unable to score, but they are not backing down. 
Nine minutes left in regulation for Game 6 of the Calder Cup Finals. 
The Checkers survive the Abbotsford power play and we are back to 5v5 hockey. 
It is frantic each time one of the teams makes their way into the offensive zone. Lots of hits, lots of shots.

Artūrs Šilovs makes a huge save in the waning seconds of the 2nd period as the Canucks hang on to the lead despite a Checkers power play onslaught.

In spite of Charlotte looking like the superior team through most of the night, Abbotsford is currently in the lead 3-2 and we’re only two minutes from the 3rd period. 
The game is still tied 2-2. The Checkers have had two power plays killed off by the Canucks this period.
