Penalty to Mitch Marner 2 minutes for tripping (drawn by Tomas Nosek)
There is no love lost in this series. Playoff hockey!
Forsling: 547 NHL games played, one fight. Probably not going to be the right dance partner.
But Leafs do head back to the power play and need a goal here.

Penalty to Sam Bennett 2 minutes for tripping (drawn by William Nylander)
Matthew Knies desperately wanted to drop the gloves with Gustav Forsling. Talk about trying to drag your team into the fight.

Alan B.: This team is easy to dislike. Where’s the heart and effort fellas?!
Nick G.: We are lucky to be out of that period only down 1. Reset for period 2!
Eric L.: Leafs fans I'm rooting for your team but please, stop it with your paranoia about the refs. This is really annoying and you look pathetic. Grow up!
Thekivas: NHL has the worst referees of any pro sport. And they have zero accountability. Brutal calls/missed calls.
Eric A.: Leafs trying to play physical but don’t know the difference between dirty and physical
Joe M.: Reffing isn’t going to make a difference for the Leafs. They’ve been playing regular season hockey for the last 4 periods. There’s no skating, no support and no forecheck.
Dom M.: The penalty issues notwithstanding, the Leafs looked very dopey that period. Can’t make a play to save their life. Bérubé needs to shake them up. Not acceptable.
John M.: The Leafs need a total reset. Woll kept it from being worse. Time to get skating, and putting more pucks and bodies to the net.

Only good news for the Leafs in the first period:
Shots 15-4 Florida.
Panthers 1, Maple Leafs 0
Florida dominated the first period with 15 shots to just four for Toronto. And of course, the Panthers have the lead
Well, that was inevitable: Carter Verhaeghe finally cashes one in for the Panthers power play, firing home a nice cross-ice pass from Matthew Tkahuck. Florida has a 12-4 edge on the shot clock and all of the momentum in the game so far.
