After taking a commanding 2–0 series lead, the Los Angeles Kings now find themselves in a deadlock with the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers showcased resilience by winning Games 3 and 4 on home ice, including a thrilling 4–3 overtime victory in Game 4, where Leon Draisaitl netted the game-winner. As the series shifts back to Los Angeles, both teams are vying for a pivotal Game 5 win to gain momentum in this tightly-contested matchup.
Edmonton has roared back into the series behind explosive offence from their biggest stars. Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid have been nearly unstoppable, each posting nine points so far. Evan Bouchard has emerged as a major factor from the blueline, recording seven points while quarterbacking the resurgent power play. The switch to Calvin Pickard in goal has paid off, providing stability when the Oilers needed it most. After clawing their way back to even, Edmonton will aim to carry their momentum into Los Angeles and capture their first road win of the series.

The Kings’ early series dominance stemmed from sharp, disciplined play and a lethal power play. Adrian Kempe has led the charge, tallying nine points (four goals, five assists) through four games. However, defensive breakdowns have crept into their game, resulting in 11 goals against across Games 3 and 4. Goaltender Darcy Kuemper, a Vezina Trophy finalist, will be crucial in helping to steady the backend. Returning to Crypto.com Arena, where they posted a 31-6-4 regular-season record, the Kings will look to reset and protect home ice with a sharper, more composed effort.
Prediction: Kings win 4–3
We round out NHL Predictions with some prop bets of the night. The Oilers’ stars have been playing like stars. Expect that trend to continue. Consider Leon Draisaitl anytime goal (+115). Quinton Byfield played well in Game 1 and 2, so expect him to step up his game returning to LA and take a look at his anytime goal (+220). Lastly, this series has been high scoring, and when the Oilers are scoring, McDavid is chipping in. His 2+ points line is looking good (+105). (Postseason record: 9-4)
