The Toronto Maple Leafs took home Game One against the Florida Panthers in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. It was a very physical game, and afterward, TV expert Paul Bissonnette had some words for the Panthers in general—and Brad Marchand specifically.
Former NHLer turned TV analyst Paul “BizNasty” Bissonnette is clearly siding with the Maple Leafs in their second-round matchup against the Panthers. Florida tried to throw the smaller Leafs off their game with heavy hitting and some nasty plays. Sam Bennett even hit Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz in the head—a hit that resulted in Stolarz being taken to the hospital by ambulance.
However, the Leafs prevailed, securing a 5–3 victory thanks in part to two early goals from William Nylander. Much of the postgame discussion has centered around how the Panthers treated the Leafs players, and—unsurprisingly—Bissonnette had a few choice words for Florida, particularly Brad Marchand.
In a video Bissonnette posted on his X account (formerly known as Twitter), he commented on the Panthers’ aggressive play, but also took a shot at Marchand. Despite Marchand tallying two assists and playing over 15 minutes, Bissonnette was unimpressed.
“Marchand, were you even f*cking playing tonight? Didn’t really notice you,” Bissonnette says in the clip.
Game Two will be played on Wednesday in Toronto. You can watch the clip below.
