SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Hockey Club looks to even the season series against the league’s top team when they take on the Winnipeg Jets. Winnipeg is one of three teams with 100+ points.
Utah HC (34-30-12, 80 points) hosts the high-flying Jets (52-20-4) at Delta Center on Saturday, April 5. Winnipeg’s 108 points led the NHL. Utah begins the day fifth in the Western Conference Wild Card chase, nine points behind the second-place Minnesota Wild. St. Louis has won 11 straight games, jumping into the WC lead.
The Jets lead the season series against Utah 2-1. Utah HC downed the Jets 5-2 at Delta Center on January 20. Winnipeg won both games on home ice, claiming 5-2 and 3-0 wins. The Jets are 24-14 on the road, while Utah HC is 16-15-7 at home.

Dylan Guenther leads Utah with 26 goals, adding 26 assists (both career-highs) in a breakout season. Clayton Keller leads the first-year franchise with 80 points, including a career-high 55 assists. Keller is the league’s 19th-leading scorer.
Nick Schmaltz (58 points) and Logan Cooley (56 points) round out the team’s 50-point scorers. Mikhail Sergachev leads the defensemen with 14 goals and 33 assists for 47 points.
Karel Vejmelka makes his 20th consecutive start behind the pipes tonight. His career-best 2.56 goals against is the 12th-best mark in the NHL.

The Jets are prolific on both ends of the ice. They lead the NHL with 2.32 goals against and are second with 3.42 goals scored per game. Kyle Connor’s 38 goals and 53 assists (91 points, 6th in NHL) and Mark Scheifele’s 37 goals (8th in NHL) and 45 assists lead the potent scoring unit.
Net-minder Connor Hellebuyck leads the NHL with 2.02 goals against, seven shutouts, and a .924 save percentage.
