ST. PAUL, Minn. — UND will play in primetime on Friday night.
The National Collegiate Hockey Conference announced Monday that UND’s semifinal game against top-seeded Western Michigan will be at 7:30 p.m. in St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center.

Second-seeded Arizona State will play third-seeded Denver at 4 p.m.
The championship is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Xcel Energy Center.
This is the final NCHC tournament in St. Paul. Next season, the league is moving its playoffs entirely to home sites.
UND reached the NCHC Frozen Faceoff semifinals by sweeping Omaha in Baxter Arena over the weekend.
The Fighting Hawks won the series opener 3-2. They rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third period Saturday to win the finale 3-2.
UND was the lone road team to win a quarterfinal series over the weekend.
UND has played Western Michigan four times this season, winning once.

The Broncos won 3-2 in overtime and 5-1 in Grand Forks in January.
They split a series in Kalamazoo, Mich., two weeks ago. Western Michigan won the series opener 6-4 to clinch its first Penrose Cup as NCHC champions. UND won the series finale 4-3 in overtime.
UND, 21-14-2, needs to win the NCHC Frozen Faceoff to qualify for the NCAA regionals.
UND has won one NCHC Frozen Faceoff title since the league’s formation in 2013-14. It was in 2021, when the tournament was played in Grand Forks due to the pandemic.
UND has won league playoff titles at Xcel Energy Center in 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Friday’s semifinals: Denver vs. Arizona State, 4 p.m., UND vs. Western Michigan, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday’s championship: Semifinal winners, 7:30 p.m.
