Tampa Bay enters the Saturday matchup against Boston having won 10 of its past 11 games and two straight since last falling to the Florida Panthers (2-1) on Monday. Last time out, the Lightning outlasted the Buffalo Sabres (6-5) on an Oliver Bjorkstrand game-winning goal early in the third period that proved to be Tampa’s third straight unanswered goal.
The Bruins are fighting to perhaps make a late-season run to reach the playoffs, but they have lost eight of their past nine games to fall to seventh out of eight teams in the Atlantic Division and three points back of the Eastern Conference’s two wild card spots.
