The Devils didn’t have Nico Hischier in their last tilt with Vegas.

The New Jersey Devils got a little bit of everything in their victory over the Utah Hockey Club last night. Their captain opened the scoring, Timo Meier broke a goalless streak, and Curtis Lazar provided depth scoring. The latter two points have eluded the Devils for a while this season. With a tough stretch of games, starting tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights, they’ll need to prove they can get contributions up and down the lineup against playoff-bound teams.
The Devils’ lineup against Vegas this time is less injury-ridden.
—Ondrej Palat scored his 12th goal of the season on the power play, assisted by Stefan Noesen and Jesper Bratt in the Devils’ last meeting with Vegas.
—Nico Hischier was sidelined with injury and has not played against the Golden Knights yet this season.
