As of 2 P.M. EST, NHL players are to report to their respective teams and begin practicing again in preparation to resume the 2024-25 regular season. The New Jersey Devils will be practicing at that very time, although they will be without Jack Hughes, who is participating in the 4 Nations championship game against Canada on Thursday.
Jesper Bratt (Sweden) and Erik Haula’s (Finland) respective clubs were each eliminated on Monday as a result of Canada’s regulation victory.
In the links, Nick Natale brings you 3 Devils who need to be better down the stretch of the regular season. That starts on the ice today when the Devils practice in Newark.
Elsewhere, what’s up with the Tkachuk’s? Each is injured, will they be good to go for Thursday?
Plus, Brock Nelson remains a hot commodity, insane T.V. ratings, and Sidney Crosby reaches divinity.
Let’s do that hockey.
New Jersey Hockey Now: Jesper Bratt scores the game-winning goal for Sweden against the USA, propelling his country to their lone victory in the 4 Nations Face-Off.
More NJHN: As the final push toward the Stanley Cup playoffs begins, the Devils need these three players to step up their game.

Sportsnet: The eldest Tkachuk brother sat out of Monday’s tilt versus Sweden, nursing injury, in preparation for the 4 Nations championship on Thursday. Brother Brady left Monday’s game with an apparent injury himself.
Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Team Canada coach Jon Cooper is the longest tenured coach in the NHL and has faced Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby many times. He extended the Pens captain quite the divine compliment.
Florida Hockey Now: Matthew Tkachuk will not play tonight when Team USA plays Sweden at the NHL 4 Nations Face-Off — but brother Brady says he will be “good to go” in Thursday’s championship game.
NYI Hockey Now: Everyone is playing matchmaker for New York Islanders forward, Brock Nelson. The Isles don’t appear sellers just yet, but the noise around the American-born forward won’t go away. Russ Macias explains why he’s a perfect fit for the Winnipeg Jets.
The Athletic ($): Saturday’s game between the USA & Canada was must-see T.V. In fact, it drew the most viewers in the NHL since Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Panthers and Edmonton Oilers.
