The second round of the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs is underway.
The final four clubs standing in the Western Conference are the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks.

Round 2 in the Eastern Conference, meanwhile, features the Boston Bruins, Carolina Hurricanes, reigning conference champion Florida Panthers and Presidents’ Trophy-winning New York Rangers.
So, which four teams will take another step toward hoisting the Stanley Cup? Here’s what to know about Round 2 of the playoffs:
Like the NBA playoffs, the NHL follows a bracket format in the postseason and doesn’t reseed.

Eastern Conference
Florida Panthers (D1) vs. Boston Bruins (D2): Florida won series 4-2
New York Rangers (D1) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (D2): New York won series 4-2
Western Conference
Dallas Stars (D1) vs. Colorado Avalanche (D3): Dallas leads series 3-2
Vancouver Canucks (D1) vs. Edmonton Oilers (D2): Vancouver leads series 3-2

Just like the other playoff series, the second round features a best-of-seven format where the higher seed hosts Games 1, 2, 5 and 7.
