In lieu of the All-Star Game, the NHL will host the inaugural 4 Nations Face-Off, an international tournament featuring the league’s best talent. 
Teams representing four nations — the United States, Canada, Finland, and Sweden — will compete in a round-robin format beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The seven-game tournament concludes with a one-game final on Thursday, Feb. 20. 
Sidney Crosby, Cale Makar, and Connor McDavid will captain Team Canada, anchoring a strong roster. Auston Matthews and the Hughes brothers—Quinn and Jack —are among the top players leading the charge for Team USA.

Sebastian Aho and Aleksander Barkov highlight Finland’s roster, while Victor Hedman and William Nylander lead the way for Sweden. 
The four nations are each ranked inside the top seven in the International Ice Hockey Federation men’s world rankings, which should make for a thrilling week of hockey on the international stage.

In the U.S., ABC, ESPN, and TNT will each broadcast multiple games during the 4 Nations Face-Off. ESPN will have exclusive coverage of the championship game, which is set for Thursday, Feb. 20. 
Sportsnet will carry all seven matches in the 4 Nations Face-Off live on broadcast television in Canada.

The opening match of the 4 Nations Face-Off will be played on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Teams will proceed to compete in a round-robin format over the course of the next five days. 
Action concludes with the two top teams competing in the championship game on Thursday, Feb. 20. 
Games will be played at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, as well as TD Garden in Boston.
