The 4 Nations Face-Off is here. Four countries are competing against one another in an international hockey tournament for the right to be crowned champions of the world — and the faces of the NHL are all taking part.
Hockey fans haven’t been treated to true best-on-best international hockey in nine years, resulting in heightened anticipation around this year’s 4 Nations Face-Off. The competition features NHL talent from the USA, Canada, Sweden, and Finland all representing their home countries on the big stage.
Montreal and Boston are the two sites for the games, with the championship being held at TD Garden in Beantown concluding the action. After three round-robin games, the two best teams in the standings will face off in the final of the 4 Nations Face-Off, hoping to emerge victorious for their home nation.
4 NATIONS FACE-OFF HQ
The Sporting News has the latest schedule and scores from the 4 Nations Face-Off.
Teams will play three games in a round-robin format within their group, followed by a single championship game.
During the first part of the tournament, teams earn three points for a regulation win, two points for an overtime win, one point for an overtime loss, and no points for a regulation loss.
The two top teams in the standings after the six games will play in a championship contest to decide the 4 Nations Face-Off winner.
