Thursday, Feb. 18 may go down in history as one of the best days in Olympic hockey history as eight teams busting at the seams with talent competed for their chance to battle for a 2026 Olympic medal.
Only four teams remain after the gauntlet, with the latter three games going to overtime with tying goals scored in each with less than two minutes remaining.
Slovakia opened the day with a definitive victory, 6-2 over Germany to earn their spot. Canada followed with a late tying goal by Nick Suzuki sending them to overtime against Czechia but it was Mitch Marner who sealed the deal in overtime.
Semifinals stream live on Friday, Feb. 19 to determine who gets to fight for which medals. Anything less than Olympic gold for Team Canada would be a disappointment as the favorites heading into the tournament.
By the end of the weekend, a team will be awarded with Olympic gold medals and victory over one of the all-time greatest hockey tournaments.
Here’s the schedule for Winter Olympics men’s hockey on Friday, Feb. 19.
