The Stanley Cup Playoffs are an exhilarating two-month period for NHL betting. Here’s the current playoff bracket for the 2025-26 season:
Sixteen teams make the playoffs, eight from each conference. The top three teams from each division are guaranteed a playoff spot, along with the top two teams from either division as Wild Cards.
The top team in each conference – i.e., the team with more points of the two division winners – plays the second Wild Card in each conference. The other division winner plays the first Wild Card team.
The Nos. 2 and 3 teams in each division play each other.
NHL teams aren’t reseeded in each round of the playoffs.
There are four rounds: First Round, Second Round, Conference Finals, and Stanley Cup Final.
Each series in each round is a best-of-seven.
